Wushu Competition
Im back! Today was the last day of my wushu competition! Phew! Its FINALLY over...
On Wednesday, I did my spear and got 7.06/10, which is quite low :S I was very nervous and kept looking at the floor. (I cant remeber any more... lol)
Today, I did my sword and got 7.28/1o. Much better than the previous one. After I learnt my mistakes on Wed, I corrected them and had a better mark. The highest was 7.51/10. I was in the top 10... but only the top 4 had medals and trophies.
I think wushu is very difficult to win because there are just so many people and you have to beat ALL of them. Usually those who win had praticed that routine for 2 years or more. I only practiced my sword and spear for 1 year. Wushu is not like soccer, netball or tennis, where you just have to beat 1 opponent by a time, then beat another and another and the people/groups you have to beat are smaller.
I hope that coach would let me continue practicing my spear this and next year, instead of upgrading me to another level. Then, I would have a better chance of winning.
I realized that wushu teached us how to be focused (where I am not at all), patient, confident and respectful.
I probrably would continue learning wushu in secondary school. Or maybe I will go for tennis... I hope there are 2 CCAs in my secondary school ( Raffles Girls, Nanyang Girls).
Promise to write again soon!
